Hello,

Muscular pain can last for weeks but generally if no improvement in 6 weeks another evaluation is needed. Other causes of LLQ may need to be considered and ruled out.
In both male and female the pain in the area can be caused by bowel problem from as simple as constipation to more important diagnosis like diverticula or tumor.
In females problem with the ovaries or the pelvic organs can be the case and might need to have an examination like transvaginal ultrasound to rule them out.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
