Hi,

If the pregnancy test was done too early, it would give a false negative result. Pregnancy tests detect the HCG hormone in the blood or urine. This hormone is released in increasing amounts as pregnancy progresses. The levels are detectable in the urine from day 11 to 14 after conception. If the time frame has not passed, then the test would not give an accurate result and you may need to repeat it in a few days.

If the test is truly negative then the symptoms may be indicative of a mild viral illness of the stomach , persons may call it the stomach flu. It generally lasts a few days only. In most persons it is 3 to 5 days. Treatment would involve sips of fluids only till there is improvement along with medicines such as Peptobismol and DramamineI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
