What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain Post Colonoscopy?
W/F, 153 lbs, 5 1 .. I had a colonoscopy with extreme pain within 45 minutes after leaving hospital. Dr diagnosed post polypectomy syndrome. I have had extreme pain in left abdomen that has circled to left side of back. No abnormal bleeding. However, this was 5 days ago and have had no treatment what so ever. Will I just heal on my own?
But in your case the symptoms are probably due to post endoscopy complication . Need not to worry. You should take plenty of fluids to re-hydrate. Take diet rich in multivitamins and avoid any oily sharp and fast food. Take diet rich in fibers as well.
I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and discuss the condition . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with anaspas. For now eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
