What Causes Persistent Anxiety Despite Taking Xanax?
I am suffering from anxiety and went to the Doctor today to get Xanax. I took 1 0.25 at 6:30 and another one at 10:30. they don t seem to be working as I am unable to sleep. As soon as I lay down I feel like I want to jump out of my skin. I went for a walk to get some fresh air and still am very anxious. What can I do.....
Persistent anxiety could be due to panic attack. I would suggest to consult psychiatric and require proper assessment. Cognitive behavior therapy will help to know cognitive function of brain. You can use xanax for short term management.
You can ask doctor for increase dose and it will reduce anxiety in 2-3 days. If anxiety persists then drugs like citalopram can be use for long term management. Do regular exercise, eat healthy diet, enjoy your hobby, spend good time with your family and friends.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
