What Causes Persistent Bleeding Post Periods?

I got my period on the 23rd of September and it ended on Nov 5th and I went to my clinic and the lady told me it was probably just stress but 4 days later I had sex and I went to the restroom and I had a blood clot. What can it be? Is it really stress?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Persistent bleeding in your case is not normal.
It could be due to hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, adenomyosis/fibroid, pelvic inflammatory disease, polyp, endometrial and cervix dysplasia.
I would suggest to consult the gynaecologist and undergo routine blood tests, coagulation profile, reproductive thyroid analysis, USG scan, PAP smear/colposcopy.
Specific treatment will depend on the cause.
Progesterone shot and tranaxaemic acid will help to reduce the bleeding.
If bleeding will not respond to drug then D & C is the last option.
Hope this may help you
