What Causes Persistent Bump On Gums Near Molars At The Back Of Mouth?
Hi.I have a bump on the inside of my back molar on the upper side it rides the gum nxt to teeth..my hygienist noticed it...in march..i thght it was a reaction to a steroid my doctor gve my I went back to him for a second round of steroid then went back to see if he thought it was a reaction to medicine..he said no. iasked the doctor the color he said it was pink..What is this..he told me I could go to a ear nose throat doctor to double check..
As per your complain there can be a few reasons for the occurrence of bump near the gums..
One reason can be an infected tooth leading to spread of infection from the root canals to the region below root tips of infected tooth causing pus formation and appears as a bump.. Mostly it is a painful condition but in long standing case it can be less painful..
Other reason can be that due to trauma to the minor salivary glands present in that region can lead to pooling of mucous in a localised area leading to formation of a small cyst known as Mucocele. . It can also be a fibrous growth as a result of some inflammation .
I would suggest you to consult a dentist who is the r8 person to make the diagnosis .
Treatment will be based on diagnosis..
Hope your query is solved. .
Thanks and regards. . Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora. .
