What Causes Persistent Burning Sensation In Left Thigh?
I have had burning sensation in my left thigh for about a month now. It is made worse when my clothes rub against my thigh. I work on my feet and I have a job where I move all day. I also sometimes have muscle pain. It is more like a the muscles are tightening in my left thigh. The NSAIDS don t help much. I can t use Tylenol as I have had Hepatitis and I was treated for a stomach flu. I cannot use meds metabolized by the liver. Warm/hot baths don t help much anymore either.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent burning sensation in left thigh . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like abnormal levels of vitamin B12 , poor blood supply to the affected area , herniated disk in your spine , pressure on your nerves or diabetes .
Condition like hyperthyroidism can also cause such symptoms .I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to thigh several times a day , eat healthy and do light exercise . If condition doesn't get well then consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination and treatment .
Doctor may order CT scan MRI and physical examination of thigh and spine and treat it accordingly . Doctor may refer you to endocrinologist for thyroid problem or neurologist for nerve problem .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
