What Causes Persistent Calf Pain?

Hi! I have calf pain. It feels like a sore muscle but seems to be hanging on longer than a muscle strain should. It has diminished in severity since it began 6 days ago. I have no other symptoms, but have a history of Factor 5 Leiden. If it is a clot will it clear up on its own or should I get checked by my Dr.?

.
Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. The blood supply of lower limbs is very peculiar and the symptom of calf muscle pain is a concern particularly with a history of factor 5 mutation.
Blood clot in vessels can cause poor or diminished blood flow that can give rise to pain, as the blood clot keeps moving with the circulating blood it may not pass through smaller vessels thereby cut off the blood supply and cause pain.
Consider seeing a doctor immediately to test for presence of blood clot if any. Once a clot is formed medical intervention is necessary to prevent blood clot from cutting off the circulation in body.
Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
