What Causes Persistent Chills Along With Headaches And Sinus Congestion?

Started with chills, severe headache, sinus congestion, cough, at times dry at times brining up mucus. Off and on hoarseness. Sleepy, fatigued, weak. Some irritability after long naps. Some mental confusion. Some light headed nests. I'm 73 and in good health. Take omeprazole 40mg, wel-chol, Zoloft 50mg, clonazapan 0.5mg. This has been going on 2 weeks.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent chills along with headaches and sinus congestion. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons , but in your case the symptoms are probably occurring due to sinusitis that too due to viral infection . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay before infection get spread into eustachian tube . Doctor may order CT scan , throat swab test along with viral culture test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin , penicillin along with decongestant and expectorant . . For now take steam several times a day , take paracetamol and do warm saline gargles .
