General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It seems you have sinus involvement.v It starts with allergic cold ascending to sinuses. The exact nature of problem needs to be ascertained by detailed physical examination, pathological tests like CBC, allergy screening test, USG scanning of sinuses, culture and sensitivity of nasal/throat secretions followed by specific treatment with antibiotics (if indicated), anti inflammatory drug, anti allergic medicines. Please consult a ENT specialist.

Till then you can take anti-cold medications over the counter, inhale nasal vapor, do hot saline gargles. Drink warm water only. Avoid eating too cold, spicy, oily or sour edibles. Avoid exposure to cool air, dust, fumes or smoke

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
