What Causes Persistent Cough Along With Shortness Of Breath?
I am a 48 year old female with a persistent cough that will not stop can t catch my breath feels like my chest is so tight I usually end up puking I get very short of breath when talking or whenever I exert myself and I also have constant heartburn since this has started almost two weeks ago. Two month ago went on blood pressure medicine. Told my doctor about the cough about two weeks ago he lowed the dosage but I stopped taking it all together until I start feeling better or we can figure out what is going on.
Mostly you might taking enalapril like drug that can lead bradykinin release and cough can occur.... So dose decresed by your doctor Still if needed switch over to other drug can be done but don't stop drug...
As you have Chest tightness and dyspnea also investigate with chest x ray and spirometry if needed..... If specific cause found than treatment done for that....
Heart burn can occur if you have acidity for which pantoprazole tablet can be taken...
Take care
Advise : Consult pulmonologist or treating physician for examination and further work up.... And don't stop antihypertensive drug by your own...
Hope this will help
