What Causes Persistent Cough And Chest Tightness Despite Taking Medication?

I have been on 40 mg of Prednisone for 5 days, then went to 30, 20 and am now on day 2 of 20 mg. I feel like I m going to explode. Blood pressure d heart rate normal, but I am very jittery and feel out of control Female, 66 years old, have been in excellent health until a cough/lung problems. Pulmonary doc was trying to establish that a May asthma diagnosis was correct. Prednisone didn t help cough or chest tightness. I am also taking 160 Symbicort, but symptoms have worsened in last few weeks. Have also had low grade fever (+2 degrees) for the past month. What should I do to calm down my racing adrenaline? How long will it last?

Allergist and Immunologist 's  Response
Hello,

You should also meet a gastroenterologist so he could diagnose or rule out a gastroesophageal reflux. It might be the cause of your cough.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
