What Causes Persistent Cough And Congestion In Chest?
3 members of my family have had a horrible cough and congestion thing for more than a month. We have all seen different doctors and had multiple antibiotics, prednisone, inhalents, cherritussin, ....all no no avail. We have had blood work done, and other tests as well....still sick. Our grown son lost 26 lbs in 2 weeks. Any ideas?
Understanding your concern. As per your query persistent cough and congestion in chest seems to be severe upper respiratory tract infection. It seems that you and your family members are constantly getting exposed to allergens. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get yourself examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests to find out exact extent of infection. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take proper courrse of antibiotics along with bronchiodilators. Avoid oily, sharp and spicy food and take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
