What Causes Persistent Cough And Wheezing?

I saw my Dr on Monday and was diagnosed with the flu. I just finished Tamiflu, don t have a fever any longer but a persistent cough. When I lie down it sounds like I have some wheezing in my lungs and was wondering if I should return to see if I have bronchitis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sometimes after flu, we may have cough or wheezing as our lungs need time to clean up from mucus. So in my opinion, you should drink plenty of water which will help you dehydrate. Eat healthy food, vegetables, soup, fruits.

On the other hand, if your symptoms don't get away after some days then you should return to your doctor to see what's happening.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Elona Dashi
