General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many medical conditions that can cause irritated epiglottis. One of the common causes can be acid reflux. I suggest using antacids such as Maalox three times a day. I also suggest using Omeprazole 20 mg in the morning before breakfast.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
