Hi. My daughter is 4yr & 9 mths. She is having cough since last 1 month 7 days. Dr. Has give SY. RAPITUS PLUS 3.5 ML Twice in day, SY. VENTROLIN 3.5 ML Twice in day. NEBULISATION - BUDESAL 0.5 mg twice in day. Tablet L. MONTUS KID 1 at night. SY. ADVENT FORTE 3.5ML Was given for 6 days and stoped. SY. OMNACORTI Forte 3Ml for 8 Days and stoped . X RAY REPORT was normal. Even after taking medicine cough is still there. Pls advice.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of persistent cough in a child which is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. The infection is probably a strep throat. Although you taking so much of medication and not getting benefitted. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Avoid giving cold beverages. You should take mast cell stabilizers to prevent from infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or virus culture test. You should get an x ray of the chest. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for 10 days along with mucolytic agents. Go for complete blood count. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. For now do warm saline rinses , take rest.
