What Causes Persistent Cough, Sore Throat And Runny Nose Despite Taking Medication?
I ve been sick for almost 5 months now. Coughing horribly, sore throat, runny nose, etc. Dr. said it s allergies but Zyrtec and Claritin have not worked. The other day I tasted blood when I coughed and now I have a huge swollen lympnode on the side of my neck. My psoriasis has gotten much worse as well. Feel like I m falling apart...

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
If psoriasis lesion is on your head, neck, face, the lymph node cab be due to it but if it's not so you need to have a complete blood count, X-ray chest and other tests to differentiate between allergic bronchitis or bacterial infection, followed by specific treatment for sufficiently long period to cure the condition.
For more personal advise and prescribing drugs, doses to suit your health, you need to get direct examination and advise. Please consult a chest physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
