What Causes Persistent Cough While Having A Stent Placed Outside The Heart?

Hello, I have a stent, placed on 16 Nov 2016 on the outside of the heart, I was told. I am coughing excessively, and wonder if my medication is responsible: I take synthroid, a diuretic, potassium, vitamin c and d, miscardis, Plavix, loprel, and baby aspirin. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There sounds possible effect over the mast cells of pulmonary epithelium triggering the chronic cough which usually co-relate with particular drug intake.

The same has to be discussed with the treating physician and further management has to be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
