What Causes Persistent Cough While On Losartan?

I am taking Losartin for high blood pressure. I took Linsinopril previously and coughed a lot. I think I may be having the same problem with this medication, but my doctor says Losartin does not cause coughing. I am also getting over a cold but the cough has been hanging on for 3 weeks. I ve been taking Losartin for about 4 months.

dear sir
thanks for writing.
Please be assured that this cough cannot be related to the losartan group, however the ace inhibitors like lisinopril cause dry coughs. Please have a regular girgling habit . some times a chronic dry cough also becomes habitual.
however a throat examination is necessary with a chest x ray to rule out other possible causes.
your doc is very right.
hope this helps
