What Causes Persistent Elevation In Diastolic Pressure?
I use a home blood pressure cuff and my blood pressure averages 130/95. The systolic fluctuates between 120 and 130 but my bigger concern is my diastolic pressure which is consistently in the mid to upper 90s. I ve had this condition for several years but my doctors don t seem to think it is a problem. Is diastolic hypertension a problem I should insist my doctor check out? I have an appointment next week.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. As you use home blood pressure cuff, you should know that a home blood check up systems are very prone to error. But they give good idea weather you blood pressure is rising/lowering above your previous readings & its very easy to use.
First of all you should get your blood pressure checked by a professional. If still your diastolic blood pressure is high above 90, you would be prescribed a medicine to lower blood pressure. Light exercise like walking and low salt diet also helps to lower blood pressure.
Don't worry you would be fine Hope this information helps
