Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Elevation In The WBC Count?
I have had an elevated white blood count for as long as I can remember. I m 30 years old. I was actually sent to a hematologist in my late teenage years and leukemia was ruled out. I had blood drawn today, I m not sick or anything, and my WBC 14,000. Why is my wbc continually running so elevated without infection present?
A high white blood cell count isn't a specific disease, but it can indicate another problem, such as infection, stress, inflammation, trauma, allergy, or certain diseases.
Elevated levels of basophils and eosinophils may occur when there is an allergic response or in cases of a parasitic infection. I suggest you to take a stool sample test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
