Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing prolonged fatigue and night sweats for the last 6 weeks and blood tests confirm it is not hormonal or menopause. I also have a constant pain in my left shoulder that seems like it is coming from the bone - it is not muscle pain and I have not done anything to hurt or tweak my arm. I was bit by a neighbors dog 8 months ago and I m worried I may have rabies.
The clinical appearance that you explain is not typical for rabies so very likely you don't have these symptoms due to rabies.
If fatigue and night sweats last so long you will need some tests like CBC and ESR to rule out anemia or that the body is fighting something, TSH to rule out thyroid problems, basic metabolic profile (creatinine, electrolytes, ALT, AST, fasting glucose, lipids) to check your general health.
You might also need a check with your doctor to rule out presence of enlarged lymph nodes which is a rare but an important cause of fatigue and night sweats and also a PPD test to rule out tuberculosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
