What Causes Persistent Fatigue While Treating EBV Acute Infection?

I am 78 years of age. My energy level has steadily lessened. My blood work shows that the EBV Ab VCA, IgG level is 600.oo . I have told that I have EBV Acute Infection. I recall that I had strep throat as a child and my tonsils were removed. Recently I have had to cease volunteer work and am have curbed any night time activities. I have been told to rest. Are there doctors who specialize in this malady? Thank you. Kathleen miller.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common with EBV infection and will settle by itself. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
