Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Fever And Leg Pain In A Child With Pneumonia?
My 5 year old has had Pneumonia, and Croup twice with on and off URI s since October. He s had a low grade fever in the daytime, and fevers up to 103.8 at night for the past 5 days. He was tested for the flu, negative, he complains of leg pain worsening and refusing to bear weight. He has been to the Pediatricians office, UCC and ER at least 8 times in the last 2 months. I feel like he is being treated for symptoms instead of getting to the root cause.
Hi, From history it seems that he might require few investigations to conclude diagnosis. He might require, X-ray chest, Complete blood checking like TC, DC, ESR, platelet count. Routine urine check up. After all reports your will have proper diagnosis and then line3 of treatment can be decided. Ok and take care.
