What Causes Persistent Fever Despite Taking Medication?

Hi,Doctor my son s age1.5 months he has suffring cold last two days and he took polio injection yesterday, but same day evening he suffering fever 102 temp he took flexon syrup advice our doctor.but fevur is continue presantly what can i do pl advice me.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have persistent fever after taking polio injection despite taking medications which occurs after injection in children in commonly. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give your child Ibuoprofen or paracetamol along with plenty of fluids. Give child rest fully. Give child plenty of fluids. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit Pediatrician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well. Doctor may prescribe you antibiotics as well.
