What Causes Persistent Fluid Build Up Behind The Ear Despite Taking Flonase?
I want to a clinic 3 days ago with lightheadedness and an earache. They said it is not an infection but I have a lot of fluid behind my ear. They suggested Flonase to open up the canal for drainage. This has had little effect and I wonder if there is another decongestant that I should take for my ears?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hi,
Flonase is a good decongestant. If there is no effect, you may take phenylephrine.
Also, take an antihistaminic as a tab. Levocetirizine. Also, start steam inhalation. You will get relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi,
