Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Headache And Dizziness After Treating A Head Injury?
I hit my head this morning and cut it open. I was observed by my GP for approx an hour. He sent me home but said if symptoms persist or get worse to seek help. What symptoms should I be looking out for? I still have a headache, feel dizzy when I stand and feel nauseous.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, it needs to be evaluated by a surgeon or a neurologist if symptoms persist.
Should have ideally undergone X-ray skull and CT scan brain and skull. Any underlying hematoma should be ruled out. Any signs of raised intracranial pressure needs to be evaluated by the physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
