What Causes Persistent Headache With Low Grade Fever?
Hello! I am 35 yr old woman. Off late for the last 5 days I am having constant headache. My BP is normal, no smoking or drinking habit. Feel slight feverish but no temperature as such. Sleep is not sound. But the headache gets unbearable at times. What can be d possible reason(s)? Regards June
Hello and welcome to HCM, Unbearable headache can occur in number of conditions. Common causes of severe headache are migraine and cluster headache. Tension headahe is also a common cause of headache but it is chronic in nature and does not cause severe headache. Migraine is characterized by throbbing and pounding nature of pain followed by aura or period of amnesia. Cluster headache is quite severe and is characterized by occurrence of severe headache and it occurs in clusters. A clinical assessment and relevant investigations are required to know the cause of symptoms to diagnose the condition and thus plan management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
