General Surgeon 's  Response
Heel pain for about one year could be due to Plantar Fasciitis or Calcaneal spur. An X Ray of the foot can diagnose the condition of then calcaneal spur. In both conditions, since your job needs you to be on your feet for long, please always use soft, pressure distributing inserts in your foot wear. Materials like Poron, Silicon, Plastazote, E.V.A are good. In case of plantar fasciitis, you will have to do plantar fascia stretching exercises, at least twice a day, Be gentle while doing these stretching exercised. You must carry on doing these for at least 4 to 8 weeks. In case of a spur, in addition to proper footwear, an injection of Methyl prednisolone acetate to the site will help.
