What Causes Persistent High Blood Pressure?

my blood pressure has been a bit high this week 137/101, 130/89, 140/97 and so on. I take my pressure at least once a week and its been fine. Do I need to rush out to the doctor or keep track another week or two? I really do not want to go on meds again. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Measure your blood pressure with mercury thermometer for at least twice. Get it measured by a physician or general practitioner.

Antihypertensive medication can be prescribed if blood pressure remains persistently High above 140/90.

A low salt diet should be taken. Potassium salt can be used for cooking. Regular one-hour active exercise is beneficial.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
