What Causes Persistent High Pulse Rate?

My pulse rate has been consistently high- 100 or higher. I feel fatigue, and light headed. I take many medications which I have taken for 2 years or more. No new meds. I had my thyroid checked and it is normal. My blood pressure is usually around 117/70. Also my hands are shaky. Any ideas of whats going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

High pulse rate could be due to various factors including:
- too much intake of caffeinated drinks
- stress
- high calories foods
- work overload

I advise to check your blood sugar levels to exclude hypoglycemia. Try to avoid caffeinated drinks, and high calories foods.

Try to relax and have better sleep. Take valeriana/chamomile/aloe vera supplement to help you relax.

Hope this helps.
