Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Indigestion At Night, Decreased Appetite And Nausea With Chronic Cough?
I have been having persistant indigestion at night, decreased appetite and nausea with a chronic cough which sometimes leads to vommitting. Today about 2 hours after lunch I went to get a gingerale to settle my stomach and began to hypersalivate and ran to the bathroom just in time to throw up. What could be causing this? I have had no weight loss, just craving crakers and gingerale, cheese sandwichs and potatoes.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Asad Sami's Response
hi i have gone through your considerations
if i were your treating doctor i would have done the following things
1-24 hour ph monitoring to look for gastroesophageal reflux 2-upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to look for gastritis, ulcers and any lower esophageal constriction. 3-i would suggest to raise your pillow 3 inches or more for sleeping 4-i would suggest not to eat anything 2 hours before going to bed. 5-antacids such as sucralfate 5-proton pump inhibitors such as esomeprazole 20mg or pentaprazole. 6- gastroprokinetic such as metochlopramide.
as these tests are needed and drugs are not over the counter drugs i suggest you to meet a gastroenterologist.
thanks hope u get the answer u can ask anything relating your health and your questions will be appreciated. wish you good health
