Hi,
Noted the history about a 68 year old female, with repeated
urinary tract infections, on 2 antibiotics, have
sore throat,
joint pains and lower
back pain, fluctuating weight.
Since there is urinary tract infection it can spread to the blood in the
form of endotoxins or exotoxins and cause the pains in muscles, joints and so on.
I would advise you the following:
Blood culture and sensitivity to rule out any blood infection through UTI or sore throat. Also urine culture and sensitivity. Bother these tests if positive will tell the most proper antibiotic needed for your body.
Go for symptomatic treatment for the symptoms of pain and so on.
Take plenty of oral fluids to help proper hydration and have urine dilution.
Continue multivitamins, mineral and trace elements.
Take rest and stop overworking as this increases the symptoms.
Once recovered well you can certainly go for proper exercises to relax muscles and joints.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
