What Causes Persistent Nasal Bleeding Post Trauma?
my daughter was at cheer practice and got elbowed in the face during a stunt and the coaches applied ice and put gauze in her nostrils to stop the bleeding everytime they pulled out the gauze the nose still continued to bleed for about an hour now it has been bleeding but my daughter has always had issues with nose bleeding that lasts for a while what are signs to watch for if it is a serious and urgent condition?

Understanding your concern .As per your query you have persistent nasal bleeding post trauma . Swelling in eye and nasal bleeding can occur due to causes like Traumatic injury, vigorous sniffing, nose picking habit causing trauma to small blood vessels, nasal irritation due to repeated cold and sinus infection, while other medical conditions like high blood pressure and blood thinning medicines can also cause nasal bleeding. I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper examination and rule out above causes . Doctor may order MRI and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug , sedatives and alter the dose of BP medicines or recommend surgery . For now avoid bending forward and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for headache . Also apply ice and pressure to nose while bleeding .
