Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sleeplessness and sleep apnea while being overweight. Well i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist , who may order sleep study and for proper evaluation of report of sleep study ,without any delay because sleep apnea sometimes leads to heart attack . Doctor may recommend CPAP machine to correct the problem. Doctor may also order nasal endoscopy and CT scan to rule out nasal polyp and anatomical abnormality . the symptoms can also occur due to conditions like post nasal drip , over weight or tonsillitis. I would suggest you to :-
- Along with CPAP machine your should do light exercises. - Control your diet and lose some weight if you are overweight. - Start do light exercises like yoga and meditation. - Try on sleep on side .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
