What Causes Persistent Neck Pain And Numbness In The Fingers?

I have been having ongoing neck pain for the last three months that got flared up after my massage therapist stretched my head to my chest. Has been difficult holding my head upright. I Have 2 -1mm disc budges at c4-5 and c5-6. About two months ago started getting lost in sensation in all my fingers and thumbs. Was doing cervical traction that seemed to help the pain in my neck but not the sensation in my fingers and thumbs. A few days ago after I did my cervical traction at home, right after I released the device I started getting dizzy. Three days later I ve been still getting vertigo which gets worse when I lay down flat on my back. I have discontinued using the cervical traction device. And wanted to know if this this is something that can happen when stretching a neck in traction?

Dear patient
Cervical disc bulge at two levels is the reason for tingling and numbness in your limbs. Cervical traction is recommended treatment along with medication as disc bulge is only 1mm. But if u are feeling dizzy after traction than it should be discontinued. You should start tablet pregalin x 75 mg twice a day plus tab medrol 4mg twice a day. Tab pantocid 40 mg twice a day before meals should be given along with this two medications. Use soft cervical collar. use thin pillow while sleeping. If you feel better with this drugs continue them for one month. Tab medrol should be tapered after 10 days and gradually stopped. if not relieved after medications cervical epidural injection will definitely help you. please consult pain care specialist m nearby you expert in blocks. hope this is useful.
