What Causes Persistent Nipple Drainage Post Termination Of Pregnancy?
Hi there. I had an abortion about 6 + months ago and I am still seeing discharge from both my left and right nipples. At times it is pure white and very little discharge but recently it is a watery discharge that squirts out when my breasts are squeezed.Sometimes my breasts are very tender but for the past few days my boobs feel heavy. It has an old milky smell and I m worried. I am still trying to make a doctor s appointment but it s hard to work around my schedule. Is there anything I should be worried about?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Prakruthi's Response
Hi are your periods regular? Are you on any medication? As you mention that the abortion was 6 months ago you should not be having these symptoms. High levels of a hormone called prolactin can cause milk secretion in non pregnant women. Kindly make time to see a doctor and get it investigated. I hope this helps you. Take care :)
