What Causes Persistent Nose Bleed Post Strep Throat Surgery?

My son had his adenoids and tonsils removed 3 or more years ago. He still gets nosebleeds almost everyday/night. He used to get step throat a lot so the ent specialist said he needed surgery. Now he doesn t get strep throat but his nose bleeds almost every day. I m almost certain there s a correlation between his nosebleeds and the surgery. Could he still be suffering 3 yrs post op?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Nose bleeding is probably not due to streptococcal infection. These bleeds start from Littles area - area inside the nostril which has thin mucosa and bleeds on little trauma or manipulation. Bleeding can also occur in case of high blood pressure. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
