What Causes Persistent Numbness In Hands And Face With Shortness Of Breath?

Hi - I am asking a question related to my son. He is 30 yo. He has been experiencing numbness over all of his body sporadically over the last 2 months. Over the last 4 days, the numbness has become constant and seems to be concentrated in his hands, face and mouth. He reports some vision difficulty and thinks he may be having some trouble breathing easily and swallowing. He has an appt with his GP this Thursday, but I think he should go to ER. What do you think?

Hello,

I want to know if he has some sort of allergies or asthma which is causing troubled breathing. Breathing rapidly for a long time can cause transient hypocalcemia in our blood which can precipitate such numbness and weakness. I suggest you to seek proper medical advice regarding his health and treatment if needed.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
