What Causes Persistent Numbness In Right Hand Middle Finger S Knuckle?

My right hand, middle finger up to my first knuckle has been in a state of numbness for about a couple weeks some times if I work or use my hand then totally goes numb. The only thing I can think of is couple weeks before this I was throwing ball and irittated my elbow.

Numbness in middle finger and first knuckle could be due to compression of nerve supplying the area. Throwing of ball could have caused irritation or compression of the nerve.
