What Causes Persistent Pain And A Bump On The Temple After An Head Injury?
HI, good noon. my cousin got head injury 2 months ago now he still have temple bump and pain in temple region along with contrecoup symptoms i.e. pain in both eyes and ears as well... So, what shpuld we do ?what possible diagnosis are? what should we do either go for MRI or CT scan?
I can understand your concern. As your cousin has injured the temple area and have persistent swelling over the region, there is a possibility of a minor crack or fracture in the temporal bone that should be treated to eliminate the swelling and symptoms associated with it.
I would advise you to go for CT Scan of the area and visit an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for clinical assessment of the injured area. If the clinical examination and CT Scan results show presence of fracture or crack, treatment should be started with the same specialist.
If your cousin is in pain right now, he can take Ibuprofen 400 mg or Ketorolac 10 mg up to thrice a day to control the pain.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish your cousin gets well soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
