What Causes Persistent Pain And Pulling Sensation In The Neck?
Hi. I have been in a recent car accident three weeks ago but I don t know if this is relevant but I have neck pain. When I pick it up, it feels like someone dragging it down with a strong pulley. And it s been going for almost two weeks now. My mom says I have been sleeping on the wrong side of the bed. But it still hurts when I move anywhere.
It is possible that the neck pain is related to the accident though it can also be related to sleeping position as well.
Both can affect the muscles in the neck, causing muscle spasm and pain.
Treatment would consist of the use of pain killers along with muscle relaxants if needed. A warm compress not hot for a few minutes to the affected area, may also help. Pain killers such as naproxen, cataflam, ibuprofen, can be used. These are over the counter.
The muscle relaxant, if needed, would need to be prescribed.
I hope this helps
