What Causes Persistent Pain And Swelling Post A Knee Replacement Surgery?
I fell on my right knee and burst the bursa. My orthopedist x-rayed the knee and found arthritis in the joint and recommended knee replacement surgery. I am now 2 months post op and still have a lot of pain and swelling. Could this be due to the damage to the bursa? He said that it took several minutes during surgery to get the excess fluid out of my thigh. I seem to be having a very rough time in rehab and dread going because I have severe pain from one session to the next. Please help me understand.

What Causes Persistent Pain And Swelling Post A Knee Replacement Surgery?
Hello dear Welcome to Health care magic family . I have evaluated your concern in depth . @ The swelling with amount of pain at 2 months post op is not normal , it may be in relation with residual fluid collection or infection . @ Strongly recommended to get an x-ray and high resolution sonography of the swelling to get perfect diagnosis and further management . Hope this helps you . Always feel free to ask further questions . Thanks for evaluating answer thoroughly . Regards dear .
