Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am almost 35, female, I have been having pain, right below my breasts, in the middle of my upper abdomen/lower chest area. When I press down on it, it hurts a lot. Could this be a strained muscle? I do not have health insurance, so seeing a doctor is not an option right now.
I can understand your concern. Most common cause of pain in the upper abdomen/lower chest area is Gastritis - Inflammation of stomach. This usually happens when food is not taken at regular intervals, Eating lot of Oily or spicy food and in some cases lack of proper sleep. If the above mentioned scenarios applies to you then it is better you change your lifestyle such that you get a minimum of 7 hrs uninterrupted sleep, Eating your meals at regular intervals (Preferably Small quantities 4-5 times a day) which should include good amount of vegetables. This should solve your problem, but do keep in mind that it may take couple of days for your pain to reduce after Changing your lifestyle. If the above mentioned scenarios doesnot apply to you then it is better to consult a doctor. Hope I have answered your queries Feel free for any further questions Thank you for choosing HCM
