What Causes Persistent Pain Despite Taking Treatment For Kidney Infection?
I recently went to an urgent care center for what I believed to be a kidney infection. I have had a kidney infection 5 months prior to this visit so I knew the symptoms I was feeling were that of a kidney infection. At the end of my appointment the doctor kept calling it a bladder infection rather than a kidney infection and also explained that I was pretty dehydrated. The problem is, I did not have any complaints about pain in my bladder or of a bladder infection. The pain was strictly in the area of my right kidney. She then prescribed me macrobid 100 mg advised me to push a lot of fluids and take advil for the pain. I have been taking the antibiotics for 6 days now and doing everything she has instructed but I still have occasional kidney pain and my urgency to urinate as well as the burning sensation seem to be getting stronger. Should I see another doctor to get their opinion or should I keep consulting with my current doctor?
