Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Pain In Abdomen And Behind Rib-cage?
I ve been having stomach pain all month. Started out dull now more persistent. Had a small blood order and ct scan last week both negative. Last week pain mainly just in lower abdomen and hurts more when you push on my lower abdomen. Pain now penetrating in both my rib cages and now they are pretty painful also.sometimes I feel the pain radiate around to my sides and behind my ribs also. Any ideas?
The symptoms seem to be related to gastritis which is an inflammation of the stomach lining. I suggest using a PPI medication such as Omeprazole in the morning before breakfast. I also suggest using a spasmolytic such as Buscopan 10 mg to relieve the pain. I recommend to avoid food that can trigger the symptoms such as spicy food or too much caffeine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
