What Causes Persistent Pain In Abdomen And Heart Burn After Eating?

I have constant ache in my side. It isn t painful but I feel like it takes up space in my abdomen. I also have heartburn a lot, nearly every time I eat. It feels like it did when I was pregnant..like there is something inside of me. I have been to the dr. several times and they have not found anything. The last time was a few months ago. I am starting to have some back pain on the same side of my body. The other side seems normal and feels great. I have had issues of constipation/loose stools...it seems like there isn t enough space in my body for things to flow properly. I am 47, active and healthy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you with thanks for a consult!

I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns according to the latest medical guidelines.

Probability:-
It looks like you have the issue of Gastroesophageal reflux disease caused by the hyperacidity in the stomach. This excess acid may be caused by the H. Pylori infection of the stomach. Excess acid for longer time causes the issue of denudation of the wall of the stomach or duodenum from inside--known as the gastric/duodenal ulcers. Pain and other symptoms you have are usually due to this issue.

Referral Suggestion:-
You need proper in-person evaluation by the Gastroenterologist. He will do proper physical examination and will go for the Urea breath test and an Esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy to see the upper digestive tract through camera inside you. If you still have some issues like constipation or diarrhea and history is chronic, he may also go for the colonoscopy.

Medication suggestion (Some medicines needs prescription from local physician):-
Dexilant
Levosulpiride

Precautions:-
Take bland diet.
No spices.
No fatty and fried, junk and fast foods.

Take plenty of water and remain active as you already are.
