What Causes Persistent Pain In Back And Abdomen Along With Heartburn?

Hi, I have ongoing upper epigastic type pain which is also felt in my back, I also feel my abdomen is distended with flatulence and heartburn this has been ongoing for a short while now. I am on no medication and have recently had the all clear for an ongoing kidney issue pyleonephritis - the pain is more a dull achy continuous pain which never seems to go away, I have no energy and am constantly running to toilet even at night

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
The symptoms suggest that you might be suffering from duodenal ulcer, as you have no renal issues now.
I would advise
1) To start on drugs such as proton pump inhibitor and continue for 4 weeks duration.
2) avoid spicy food and caffeine containing items.
3) Have plenty of water, and have dinner two hours before sleep, this will add to the help.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
