What Causes Persistent Pain In Buttocks After Injury?
Greetings doctors...last month my mother slipped in the bathroom and landed on her buttocks...the family doctor prescribed her painkillers for the severe pain...its been a month now but the pain is not fully gone...she is 61 years old...pls advise...thank you
Thank you for using HCM. I suggest you get a orthopedic consultation done. Further evaluation is needed like X-ray to rule out any fracture and if needed MRI. Another thing to be kept in mind is her age. Elderly women suffer from calcium, vitamin D deficiency leading to osteoporosis that is weakening of bones. Calcium and Vitamin D supplementation may be started after a blood work up of serum calcium and vitamin D3 levels.
