Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Pain In Chest While Deep Breathing And Full Lung Inflation?
I am experiencing pain in the range of a 6-7 between my breasts. There is swelling above the stem that is painful to the touch and just from the pressure of my bra. It has been constant for 6 hrs. Pain increases with deep breathing or full lung inflation.
Let me tell you that symptoms described by you suggests that you have 2 possibility. The first possibility is of Peptic ulcer disease or Hiatal hernia. Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper GI endoscopy. Take antacid and proton pump inhibitors. The second possibility is Pleuritis this condition is an inflammation or irritation of the lining of the lungs and chest confirmed by chest X-ray. I suggest you to consult a surgeon and get an ultrasound upper abdomen, digital chest X-ray.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Arup Majumdar, General & Family Physician
